New Delhi, Aug 19 : Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is among 15 suspects of being named in the FIR filed by the CBI in connection with allegations of irregularities in Delhi’s latest excise policy. According to the FIR that was accessed by IANS in addition to Sisodia the CBI has named the Commissioner Excise, Arva Gopi Krishna, then Deputy Commissioner Excise, Anand Tiwari who was then Assistant Commissioner (Excise) and Pankaj Bhatnagar Entertainment and event management firm Only Much Louder’s CEO Vijay Nair, Pernod Ricard’s former employee Manoj Rai, Brindco Sales Pvt Director Amandeep Dhal, Indospirit Group Managing Director Sameer Mahendru, Buddy Retail Pvt Ltd Director Amit Arora, Mahadev Liquors authorized signature holder Sunny Marwah, three private individuals Arun Ramchandra Pillai Arjun Pandey and Dinesh Arora and two private companies, Buddy Retail Pvt Ltd as well as Mahadev Liquors.
The CBI raids are taking place at 21 locations in seven states in connection with the case.It is claimed that liquor-related business people were granted exemption of 30 crores of rupees.
licence holders were allegedly granted extensions according to their personal wishes, and the decision was allegedly imposed by violating excise laws.
