New Delhi, Aug 19 : India’s smartwatch market grew by 312 percent (on-year) in the June quarter, and a local company Fire-Boltt was the top market player for the first time with 28 percent share according to a new report on Friday.
Noise came in second with 26 percent share (best-selling brand in online channels) and boAt along with its subsidiaries, remained in the third position with 19 percent share, as per Counterpoint Research.

The online channels contributed 67 percent to the total volume of shipping with Amazon being the top seller.

“India’s Smartwatch shipments grew by four times per year in the second quarter of 2022 with Fire-Boltt being the top choice.

Fire Boltt and Noise captured more than half of the market for smartwatches,” said senior research analyst Anshika Jain.

Samsung increased its sales by 295 percent (YoY) in Q2 as the Galaxy Watch 4 continued to be the top-selling model due to the frequent promotions.

Dizo was flat with the fifth position.Dizo Watch 2 Sports was the top model of the brand in the quarter.

realme increased 76 percent and also unveiled its first watch with Bluetooth calling the Watch R100.

“The market is extremely dynamic and the top three spots will change in the next few quarters,” said Jain.

The United States saw more than 300 smartwatch models sold in this quarter, which is the most number ever.

“The top three brands provided 75 distinct models.

The quarter saw more than 50 new releases from the major brands.Smartwatches with low-end features continue to draw more attention, as half of the watches are in the sub-Rs 3500 ($44) retail price range,” said research analyst Harshit Rastogi.
