New Delhi, Aug 18 : India on Thursday announced the discovery of 12,608 new cases of Covid-19 as well as 72 deaths as per the Union Health Ministry. The new deaths pushed the number of deaths in the nation by 5,27,206.
The current caseload is 1,013,343 which accounts for 0.23 percent of the overall positive cases.
The rehabilitation of the patients of 16,251 in the past 24 hours brought the total number of patients to 4,36,703,315.Thus, India’s rate of recovery is 98.58 percent.
While the daily positive rate slightly increased to 3.48 percent The weekly positivity rate was 4.20 per cent.
Additionally, in the same time period there were an overall of 3,62,020 test were conducted across the country, bringing the total to more than 88.14 crore.
As of Thursday morning the Covid-19 vaccination coverage in India was higher than 208.95 crore, achieved through 2,77,651,601 sessions
More than 3.98 million adolescents have been given with the initial dose of Covid-19 since the beginning of the vaccination drive for this age group.
