New Delhi, Aug 16 : Congress has called an AICC gathering of AICC General Secretaries and incharges, PCC presidents legislator party leaders, and frontal head of the party on Thursday in preparation for the protest against unemployment and inflation in August 28. The rally is scheduled to take place in Delhi in the city of Ramlila Maidan, and the party believes that the agitation of August 5 proved successful in the event that Rahul Gandhi as well as Priyanka Gandhi were detained by the police.
Congress is planning to expand the agitation campaign starting at the village level, and include retail and mandi workers in the process.
The party will hold “Mehangai Chaupal” interactive meetings in mandis, markets for retail and other places in all constituencies of the assembly between August 17 and 23rd, sources from the party said.
The party is expected to print the booklets and give them out to state organizations and will further translate them and create them in the language of the country, and later distribute them to members of the general public they said.
Congress is hoping to make connections with the masses this time , as party’s feedback suggests that “its massive protests on the 5th of August against the Modi government’s anti-people policies resonated with the masses” Sources claimed.
The party is also planning to organize an agitation to demand to reverse the Agnipath scheme, Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda had stated.”After August 15th, we’ll take to the streets, as we took to the streets in our struggle against the rise of inflation to demonstrate against the rise in unemployment, and to demand a the rollback of the Agnipath scheme,” Hooda had said.
