Union Minister of Culture G Kishen Reddy unveils NRI Festival-Global Power Champion Trophy

New Delhi, Aug 13 : The NRI Festival and Sports Mahotsav which was held to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence and commemorating it in the form of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations that include the Indian diaspora population, won its trophy for sports events presented by the Union Minister of Culture, G.Kishen Reddy as the celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav has already reached a peak with the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign.
The first of its kind NRI Sports Mahotsav is being held this year in India with the primary goal will be on involving as many overseas Citizens of India to attend and take part in these sporting events.The sport in India has been restricted to Indians citizens, which in the end, doesn’t allow those who don’t have Indian citizenship status to take part in any official competition and hence the importance of these events.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his interactions with diaspora communities has always stated that engagement with the Indian community in the world is a top priority.
