Islamabad 10 August, Islamabad : Responding to the Pakistan government’s move to file a reference against the PTI chairman in prohibited funding and Toshakhana cases Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has warned that any attempt to detain Imran Khan or dismantle the PTI would cause “bloody political turmoil” in the country. Rasheed stated that the safety of the nation is more crucial than politics or power, and added that instability in Afghanistan could also affect the peace in Pakistan, Geo News reported.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has initiated an investigation to investigate the question of illegal financing and summoned top PTI members to appear before it.
The government has tightened the noose around PTI following the ECP ruling in the case against prohibited funding as well as a smear campaign targeting the military in the wake of the Balochistan helicopter crash.
The ruling coalition was warned in an array of tweets Rasheed stated that the current economic crisis and political instability, along with the increasing terrorist and extortion cases will drown their politics, Geo News reported.
He added that China is thinking very well of Pakistan and the Pakistani authorities should be aware of its signals and not make Independence Day “a day of destruction”.
“Arresting Imran Khan as well as his plans to dismantle PTI could be the beginning of bloody politics.”
He stated that their intention is to eliminate Khan and to make Nawaz Sharif eligible.
