Srinagar 5 August : Covid upward surge continued in J&K on Friday when there were 823 cases of new cases, and two deaths reported over the last 24 hours. Officials have confirmed the cases as 633 people from Kashmir division, and 190 cases from Jammu division.
There were deaths in each division, bringing the total number of persons killed in coronavirus-related deaths in the Union Territory to 4,776.
Since the outbreak began in the year 2000, 468,245 people were infected with coronavirus, out of which 458,336 have recovered.
Concerned by the recent increase in the amount of Covid positive cases, the authorities have made the wearing of masks compulsory in every district of J&K.
