Cong protests: Rahul, others detained in Delhi’s Kingsway Camp

New Delhi, Aug 5 : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who was arrested earlier in the day on Friday by Delhi Police, has been detained at the new police lines, Kingsway Police camp, in this camp in the capital city of India according to an official from the Delhi Police official said.
“They were taken into custody at the North fountain in front of Parliament.

They are being held in Kingsway camp” an official from the top Delhi Police official told.

Congress had declared a nationwide protest over the policies of the Central government which has resulted in an increase in rates of inflation and unemployment in the nation.

In black and black shirts, the MPs, under the direction of Rahul Gandhi attempted to stage an unintentional march starting from Parliament House to the Rashtrapati Bhawan.However, as the MPs made their way towards Rashtrapati Bhawan they were stopped by they were stopped by the Delhi Police stopped them midway near Vijay Chowk.

Police tried to persuade Rahul for a time but when he refused to leave, they arrested the man and put Rahul in the bus for transport to Kingsway Police camp.

In a conversation with media before being arrested, Rahul Gandhi was accused by of the Delhi Police of manhandling the lawmakers.”We are here to discuss the issue of unemployment and price hikes.We were ready to move ahead but the police would not let us,”Gandhi said.

In response to questions about MPs being abused, Rahul said, “That is okay.I’m glad to be handled.Our job is to fight these forces.Our job is to ensure that Indian democracy is safeguarded.Our mission is to highlight the issues of the people, such as unemployment and price increases, and we’re doing it.”

A little over 10 days ago, on the 26th of July Rahul Gandhi was arrested in Kingsway camp during a demonstration march that was organized by Congress legislators from the Parliament to Rashtrapati Bhawan.
