Sri City, July 7, 2022: Prarambh 2022, the Orientation programme for the incoming MBA Class of 2024 was held yesterday at the Sri City Campus by IFMR GSB, Krea University.This orientation is special also because it marks the return of the orientation programme to an on-campus event after two long years marred by the pandemic.
Prarambh 2022 the three-day event has been created to ensure a smooth transition for incoming students as they begin a new phase of their lives.IFMR GSB seeks to build a holistic learning environment for the future management leaders and emphasizes on a strong mentor-student relationship, immersive internship opportunities, vibrant student life through active clubs and committees and promising placements.
Prarambh is the perfect gateway for the incoming students to get a glimpse of what awaits them in the next two years.The event witnessed the Krea community extending a warm welcome to the incoming cohort, both academically and socially.
This year, the University welcomed 178 students from across 22 states of India.Prarambh 2022 is being held from July 6th to 8th, 2022 and is packed with engaging sessions, industry interactions, discussions and presentations with Krea leadership, faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
The orientation sessions are designed to help students prepare for the upcoming challenges and jumpstart their new educational journey with zest and joy.Prof Lakshmi Kumar, Dean, IFMR GSB, Krea University, said, “Prarambh 2022 has been designed to present incoming students with a complete picture of all the departments, divisions, clubs and committees of the IFMR Graduate School of Business, Krea University.It includes a wide range of sessions and activities that cover Academics, Placements, Campus Tour, Programme Overview, Scholarships, Mentorships and social aspects of the campus.Other than the course material that you will learn, your time at IFMR GSB is a time of continuous learning and we at IFMR GSB will strive to ensure that you are equipped with Knowledge, Skills and Attitude as you pass out.Knowledge is the basis of everything that you do and knowledge is power.Skills, is related to knowledge and is the ability to get trained and be an expert in a particular area of your choosing and lastly a positive attitude, that enables you to think of contributing positively to mankind.
Industry stalwart, Ranganath N Krishna, Independent Director and Consultant and former Managing Director of Grundfos Pumps India Pvt.Ltd was the Chief Guest on Day one of Prarambh 2022.Sharing his thoughts with the eager new group of students, Mr.Ranganath drew on his rich corporate experience saying, “To succeed in the corporate environment, one needs to have a holistic view of the entire organization.You need to have a working level understanding of all other departments for you to do really well.In the past, money used to be the only denominator when someone chose to work, but today there is a refreshing change with youngsters actively seeking a larger purpose than just a high salary in joining a company.
Today, they want to know how corporations are positively impacting society and the environment around them.What their mission and vision statements are and if that is being adhered too.For one to be successful in the corporate world, it is also important to co-create.Everyone has something to say.The key success in developing a good business is the ability to listen and understand backed by the ability to execute.Day one evening will witness a team-building session for the students to help them know each other better.
The second day of Prarambh 2022 will have Distinguished IFMR GSB Alumni, Shyam Arumugam, Managing Director of Industrial & Logistics Services at Colliers, India speaking to the new cohort.
