Every decision taken by the Central Government since the beginning of the workers’ struggle in AP has become crucial for the employees here. This is because the YCP government is trying to provide pensions along with PRC percentages similar to the central government.
Now if the latest proposal received by the Center in the same vein is implemented, it seems certain that the employees in the AP will once again put pressure on the government.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee recently proposed to the Center that the additional pension currently being given to employees by the Central Government across the country should be applicable from the age of 65 years.
This was brought to the notice of the Central Ministry of Finance.Thereby examining the objections that may apply to it.According to the proposals received by the Center, the Parliamentary Committee has recommended an additional 5 per cent pension for 65-year-olds, 10 per cent for 70-year-olds and 15 per cent additional quantum pension for 75-year-olds.
The government has revised the additional quantum in the wake of the latest employee war in AP.Accordingly, the government has agreed to pay an additional quantum pension of 7 per cent for retired employees aged 70 to 74 years and 12 per cent for those aged 75 to 79 years.
