Melbourne, 26 December : .Australia beat England by 185 runs in the first innings of Boxing Day Test, which took place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
England was 128/6 at tea.Their struggle continued after they lost Mark Wood (35), Mark Wood (6 Ollie Robinson (22) & Jack Leach (13) wickets.England could not add any more runs to their innings in the third session, after having been put into bat.

Australia’s Pat Cummins (3/6) and Nathon Ly (3/6) each took three wickets, Mitchell Starc (2/54) picked up two, Scott Boland (1/48), and Cameron Green (1/7) each grabbed one wicket.

Australia chose to bowl earlier in the day after an incontinence of Melbourne’s start time due to drizzle.

Joe Root, England’s skipper, departed as soon as he had brought up his fifty runs (50).Root hurriedly hung his bat to Mitchell Starc’s ball and then opened the mouth before giving it to Alex Carey, the wicketkeeper.

Ben Stokes (25), couldn’t capitalize on his run.He played some impressive shots in his brief innings and seemed promising.However, Green caught him at the point.

Jonny Bairstow (25) and Ben Stokes (25) then put up a fight and maintained the runs without taking any risks.

Cameron Green received a reward for his tidy bowling.He took Stokes’ wicket.

Stokes stepped back to take the cut shot against the shorter ball, and was out at point.

Green also troubled Buttler with his words, but Lyon dismissed Buttler (3) at the first sip of tea.England was further falling behind.
