CJI prays at Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada

Vijayawada (Dec 25) – Chief Justice of India Justice N.V.Ramana offered prayers Saturday at Kanaka Durga Temple here.
The chief justice was accompanied by his wife and dressed in traditional attire, to pay homage at goddess Mahalkshmi, which is located on Indrakeeladri Hill.

They participated in temple rituals, and were blessed with Veda pundits.

The CJI was welcomed by priests and temple officials.

Later, they felicitated him by giving him mementoes and prasadam.

Perni Nani (transport minister), MP Kesineni Nani (endowments secretary), Hari Jawaharlal (endowment commissioner), Krishna district collector J.Nivas, and other welcomes the CJI.

CJI is currently on a three day visit to India.He will be attending high tea hosted by Y.S.Later in the day, Jagan Mohanreddy will introduce his Cabinet colleagues to Justice Ramanan.The chief minister will present his cabinet colleagues to Justice Ramana at the programs to be held in Vijayawada’s Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation stadium (IGMC).

After Justice Ramana wrote to Justice S.A.Bobde in October 2020, he made certain accusations against Justice Ramana.This is the first time they will meet.

In-house proceedings had led to the dismissal of the complaint by the apex court in March 2019.

Justice Ramana visited Ponnavaram, his village in Krishna district on Friday.

He was given civic reception.CJI took the bullock cart to Ponnavaram and offered prayers at a temple.

After taking up the position of CJI in April, Justice Ramana made this his first visit to his village.
