Omicron: AP govt issues guidelines, warns of stern action if violated

The Andhra Pradesh state government led by Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has taken a crucial decision in the wake of the new Covid variant, Omicron.The AP government has issued guidelines to curb the spread of the Covid new variant, Omicron, in the state.

The Union Home Ministry has decided to strictly enforce the WHO guidelines.In this context, the AP state govt announced that Rs.100 will be fined if people were spotted without wearing a mask.Also, it warned that strict action would be taken against owners who allow citizens without masks into shops and commercial areas.

If the owners allow people into shops and commercial areas without a mask, then the owner will be charged between Rs.10,000 to Rs 25,000.It said it would take steps to shut down companies found guilty of violations for two days.The government has directed the people to call 8010968295 or WhatsApp in case of violation of Covid rules in shops and commercial complexes.

The AP state govt also revealed that cases would be registered under the Disaster Management Act, Section 188 of the IPC if people violate Covid protocols.
