Patna, Dec 8, 2008 : On Wednesday, Santosh Kumar Suman, the son of HAM chief Jitan Raj Manjhi, stated that he will not withdraw support from Nitish Kumar government if he does not receive Rs 1,000 crore grant for his constituencies.

He demanded money to develop the constituencies where our party is represented in Bihar Assembly,” the state SC&ST Minister stated.

“The opposition leaders are raising the issue without any reason and exacerbating it out of control.

Jitam Ram Manjhi says that this is his last political inning, and he wants his constituency to grow as much as possible.He was trying to reach out to his constituency.Therefore, he said “Kahi Ham Chamak nahi Jaye isliye To Samajh Lijiye.” This statement should not be taken to mean that he is withdrawing from the NDA.Suman stated that the money is necessary for development.

Suman stated that Bihar NDA (National Democratic Alliance) is united and Hindustani Awam Morcha is part of the alliance.

Jitan Ram Manjhi addressed the gathering in Mahua Block in his Assembly constituency Imamganj, Gaya district, on Tuesday.He said: “If Nitishkumar would not give me Rs 1,000 crore for the development his party’s constituencies, we are free and open to making a decision.We are not in his party.We are in the coalition of government and can separate our party from it.

“Though, Nitish does not ignore me.Manjhi said that Nitish Kumar listens to me all the time and that he will approve the amount for the development in our constituencies.

HAM holds four seats in Bihar Assembly.It is also one of the parties in the current coalition government of NDA headed by Nitish Kumar.

This government has 127 members, including 74 from BJP, 45 from JDU, 4 of HAM and 3 of VIP.There is also one independent candidate.If Jitan Ram Manjhi stops supporting the NDA government, it will only reach one seat above that of the majority.

NDA holds 243 seats in Asembly, and the 122 required to form government.
