Panaji, Dec 8, : There is less chance that the five people, including Russian and Georgian citizens, who were quarantined earlier in the week in Goa, will be diagnosed with the Omicron variant Covid, Chief Minister Pramod Seeant stated on Wednesday. Officials from the state Health Ministry claim that four of five Omicron-infected people are symptomatic while the fifth is symptomatic.
The health of the fifth person is improving, and they have been removed oxygen.
“They tested positive for Covid 12 to 13 days after arriving here in India.
Sawant said that there is less chance of them contracting Omicron.
“We have taken all precautions regarding Omicron.
They have been isolated from the samples that were sent to Pune.Their health is good.They are healthy,” the Chief Minister added.
Five sailors, including Russian- and Georgian citizens, tested positive for Covid with Omicronlike symptoms upon arrival in Goa.They were traveling onboard a cargo vessel that had arrived from South Africa.The ship is currently at Goa’s Mormugao Port Trust.
