The government did not make an official announcement, and the farmers’ group seemed divided.Sources from Singhu border camp on Delhi outskirts, which is the headquarters of Samyukt Kisan Morcha (a consortium of farmers’ organizations that led the agitation for the repeal of the three farm laws over a year ago) said conflicting things.

Darshan Pal, one of the SKM leaders, confirmed that there was an email that requested five names from SKM to be added to the MSP committee.

However, he expressed dismay at the fact that the government had not approached the SKM directly for five names or to withdraw cases against Haryana farmers.”The Haryana Chief Minister called and said that he would call tomorrow to discuss the possibility of removing cases against Haryana farmers.I don’t understand why the government is acting this way.He said.

However, other leaders of farmers said that there was no official word from any government.

The SKM had stated that they would wait for the laws being formally repealed, and the government gave legal standing to MSP.The farmers also declared that they would continue their agitation until all their demands are met, except for the main demand of repealing the three laws. Those demands included the withdrawal of all cases against farmers filed during the year-long agitation.

The SKM has confirmed that all its constituent organizations will review the situation and make decisions on the next steps in the farmers’ struggle on December 4, as previously announced.

“The date for this SKM meeting is unchanged. This meeting will be held at the Singhu Border.”This meeting will discuss the various points raised by the letter to Prime Minister, and future decisions will also be made,” a statement from SKM stated.

It stated that vague statements made here and there in response to the pending demands by protesting farmers were not acceptable responses or assurances from BJP governments and that it sought concrete assurances and solutions to their pending needs.
