New Delhi, Nov 30, : On Tuesday, the Centre advised the UTs and states to ensure that they are prepared for health infrastructure such as O2 beds, ventilators, ICUs, etc.ECRP-II to be implemented, with a focus on rural areas and paediatric cases.
It stressed the importance of implementing sanctioned PSA plants as soon as possible, and ensuring seamless supply logistics, drugs, and O2 cylinders in the face of Omicron infection.

Rajesh Bhushan, Union Health Secretary, advised states that they should not let their guard down and maintain a close watch on international passengers arriving at the country’s various airports, ports, and land borders.

States have been advised to ensure effective surveillance of international passengers.It is imperative that international travelers arriving from “At Risk” nations on the first day and passengers belonging to a specific category on the eighth day be tested.

All positive samples have been requested to be sent to INSACOG Labs immediately for genome sequencing.States will contact trace positive individuals and follow-up for 14 days.

States must ensure that each district is tested thoroughly and maintain a high RT-PCR ratio.They will continue to monitor areas where there have been recent clusters of positive cases.

Regular monitoring of home isolation cases will be carried out, including physical visits to the homes of passengers from “at risk” countries.The state administration will also monitor the physical status of those who have failed the 8-day test.

All states were notified to meet with BOI, APHO and PHO in order to smoothen implementation of the new Guidelines For International Travelers, which went into effect at midnight.

The State Surveillance officer will monitor the country daily for any new clusters of positive cases.Weekly media briefings will allow the mass to receive science-based information and evidence on the merging scenario.
