Mumbai, Nov 30, : Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister, will visit Sharad Pawar, President of the Nationalist Congress Party, during her Tuesday visit to Mumbai, according to official sources. “CM of West Bengal Ms.Mamata Bangerjee-ji will pay a courtesy call to our party President Sharad Pwar Saheb tomorrow at 3pm at his residence Silver Oak’ on Dec.1, Mumbai,” Nawab Malik, NCP National Spokesperson, Minority Affairs Minister, said.
According to reports, Banerjee will be arriving Tuesday evening.She plans to meet with top industrialists in order to attract investment to her state and invite them to the Bengal Global Business Summit to be held in April 2022.
It was not immediately clear if she would meet Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who is currently recovering from a spinal operation.
Banerjee, fresh from winning the West Bengal Assembly elections in May, is now preparing for a national political flight.
Pawar had planned to campaign for Banerjee in the Bengal Assembly elections last April, but was unable due to certain constraints.
Both Pawar and Banerjee are making great efforts to engage national opposition parties and fight the Bharatiya Janata Party at the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
The All India Trinamool Congress chief has a great relationship with Thackeray.She has also met Thackeray in the past.
However, her relations with Thackeray — the third partner in this Maha Vikas Aghadi government — are strained.
