New Delhi, Nov 29, : , Parag Agarwal has been appointed CEO of Twitter.He is now part of a high-profile group of Indian and Indian origin honchos who are deciding the fate of global corporations. Agarwal joins Satya Nadella as Microsoft CEO, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai and Sundar Pichai as Google CEO Sundar Pichai.He is joined by Santanu Narayan, Adobe President and CEO Santanu Narayan, and Arvind Krishna, CEO of IBM Group, who are all leaders in global corporations.
Other members of the elite club include Ajay Banga, Mastercard’s CEO, Arista Networks President Jayshree V.Ulal, Sanjay Mehrotra, Micron Technology CEO, and Laxman Narasimhan, Reckitt Benckiser CEO.
On Monday, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced that he would be stepping down from the company he was deeply involved with.He will hand over the baton and the responsibility to Agrawal, the current Chief Technology Officer, who will become the new CEO and a member the Board.
Dorsey will continue to be a member until his term expires at 2022 stockholders meeting.
Agrawal has been with Twitter over a decade and has been Chief Technology Officer since 2017.
Dorsey was forced to resign in 2008, but he returned as CEO of the company in 2015.
Agrawal joined the company as an ads engineer in 2011.
He was promoted to CTO in 2018.
