China’s PC shipments grew by 3% to more than 15 mn units in Q3.

Beijing, Nov 29, : China’s PC shipments (desktops, notebooks, and computers) grew by 3% annually to more than 15,000,000 units in Q3 2021 according to a new report.
Comparatively to last year, desktop (including desktop-workstation) shipments increased by 3.8 percent to 5.3 millions units.According to Canalys market research firm, notebook (including mobile workstations) shipments increased slightly by 1.9% to 9.7 million units.

This growth led to a record third quarter shipment in China.This beats a year-old record for 14.7 million unit shipping in Q3 2020.

Top-ranked Lenovo saw 8% year-on-year growth, with 6 million units shipped and an increase of 2% in market share.

With shipments of 1.9million and 1.4million units, Dell and HP grew respectively by 18% and 15% from Q3 2020.

Asus took fourth place with a 44% year-on year growth, while Acer retained its top five spot but saw a 15% decline in year-on year sales.

Emma Xu, Canalys PC analyst, stated that vendors from nearby markets like IoT and smartphones are now building and enhancing product portfolios in computers, specifically notebooks and tablets, to support a strategy of building hardware ecosystems.

“Vendors such as Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi have all announced new notebook/tablet SKUs, aiming at taking a piece of this highly profitable hardware vertical,” Xu said.
