The Parliamentary Committee on Education met with class 9 students

New Delhi, Nov 29, : , Rajya Sabha chairman M.Venkaiah Naidu informed the house Monday that a parliamentary committee had interacted with a class nine student about content and design of textbooks in one of its meetings.
“The Committee on Education heard and interacted in Haryana with a ninth-class student while discussing the issue of Reforms to Content and Design of Text Books’ during inter-session,” Naidu stated.

He stated that this was a good example of reaching out to stakeholders for effective feedback, and informed reporting on the topics chosen for examination by these Committees.

These stakeholder consultations elevate these committees to a higher level in support of the Parliament.

The Rajya Sabha Chairman reported that the 21 meetings of the eight Department Related Parliamentary Standing Committees held by Rajya Sabha lasted 39 hours 33 minutes and had a commendable average attendance rate of 48.58 percent.

The Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture had the best performance, with an average time of 2 hours 48 minutes and 51.61 percent attendance at each of the four meetings.

The Committee on Commerce hosted the most meetings, five, for an average of eight and a half hours.
