Bharti Axa Life settles claims related to Covid for Rs 106 Cr

Chennai, Nov 29 : , Life insurer Bharti Axa Life Insurance Company Ltd Monday announced that it had paid Rs.106 crore in claims related to Covid-19 during the first half FY22.
The company also stated that it had earned a total premium amounting to Rs 1,023.88 crore in the same period, an increase of Rs 912.39 crore earned in the previous year.

According to Bharti Axa Life’s 13th month persistency (policy continuity), it has increased to 64.4 percent during the period under review from 60.7 procent in the previous year.

The company’s solvency ratio was 188 percent on September 30, 2021, which is well above the regulatory requirement for 150 per cent.

The company’s assets under management are now Rs 10,256 crore as of September 30, 2021, compared to Rs 7,987 crore for the same period in the last fiscal.

Parag Raja (Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer), believes that the positive change in the Covid-19 situation since August 2021, buoyant consumer sentiment toward the need for life insurance, and investments in digital platforms give the confidence to grow the company in the future.
