Kanpur, Nov 29th : .India wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Sha will not be able to keep duties on day five against New Zealand because of neck stiffness.
In his absence, KS Bharat, the reserve keeper, will be wearing the gloves. “Update: Wriddhiman Sha felt stiffness in his neck during the second innings.It was affecting his ability to move while wicket-keeping.KS Bharat will take wickets in his absence, Day 5, according to the BCCI’s Twitter handle.
India led by four runs with Saha’s unbeaten run of 61 on day four.It was obvious that Saha had changed his stance to avoid causing neck pain.
He was also seen getting massaged by the physio during the drinks break on Sunday.
Saha wasn’t on keeping duties during New Zealand’s first innings due to neck stiffness.
Bharat, who took wickets in his place, was praised for his keeping in the first innings.He took two catches and performed an athletic stumping to Tom Latham.
After declaring at 234/7 India have set a target for New Zealand of 284 runs.To take a 1-0 lead in this two-match series, the hosts must pick nine wickets on Day 5.
