By Santosh Kumar Pathak New Delhi, Nov 28, : The Union Minister of State in North Eastern Region Cooperation and Development B.L.Verma claimed that Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party, who is determined to grab power by hook and by crook will not win the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, and that the Congress will not reach double digits.
In an exclusive interview with IANS, Verma spoke about a variety of issues, including the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls and farmers agitation.
She also discussed the Winter session of Parliament.
Here are some excerpts.
Q.Q.How big a challenge will Akhilesh’s strategy pose to the BJP
A.A.He formed an alliance in 2017 with Rashtriya Lok Dal, and the Congress.He formed an alliance with Mayawati in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
But what was the result? The public completely rejected him at both polls.
The BJP formed the government in 2017 with a clear mandate.2019 Lok Sabha elections saw the saffron party win 64 of the 80 seats, while SP was reduced to just five.
Akhilesh wants power, but he won’t get it.The BJP wave is sweeping India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Based on the Modi government at Centre, Yogi government in the state, and strong organisation, we will win more than 300 seats and remain in power in the state.

Q.Q.Do you think that the farmers’ agitation will have no impact on the Western Uttar Pradesh?
A.The BJP has always held sway in Western Uttar Pradesh.
Modi is full of faith for marginal and small farmers (92%).
Farmers are aware of the government’s developmental schemes, Kisan Samman Nidhi which will double farmers’ incomes by 2022.
Farmers were with us, are still with us, and will continue to be with us.
Farmers have demonstrated their support for the BJP in the Panchayat, Zila Panchayat, and Block Pramukh polls.
Q.Q.Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, general secretary of Congress, has attempted to win women voters by announcing a 40% reservation for them in tickets.How will it impact the BJP’s chances of winning the next election?
A.Priyanka Gandhi needs to tell us how many women were made ministers in Congress-ruled Rajasthan.and what they did for women in other Congress-ruled States.
She knows she won’t be able to bring power to Uttar Pradesh.That is why she can speak anything.
I can assure you that Congress will not be able even to reach double digits at the polls.

A.A.We will be able to form government and get more than 300 seats.That’s why no one stands in our competition.Opposition parties are competing for second or third place.
Q.Q.He also accused your government of not conducting caste census.
A.A.SP can now say what it likes, but the public knows everything.
Modi government gave OBC Commission constitutional status and implemented 27 percent reservation for OBCs in NEET.We have more OBC ministers than any other government.

A.A.We have reformed law and order in the state.
Opposition used to taunt our efforts by saying, “Ram Lala Hum aayenge.
Tareekh nahi Batayenge” (Ram Lala will come but will not tell the dates).But we not only told them the date, but also laid the foundation stone for a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya.Construction is currently underway.
Q.Q.What is your strategy?
A.A.They should do the same.
We are ignoring the sentiments of a few farmers and are repealing farm laws.However, the legislations were created for their benefit.
According to Congress leader Manish Tewari’s book on nation security, it is clear that the UPA government did not take any action after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
Our government responded to Pakistan with surgical strikes under Prime Minister Modi.
The opposition has always played politics of appeasement.It has also insulted Babasaheb ambedkar by boycotting the Constitution Day.They don’t care about Constitutional values and Constitution.
Q.Q.Modi has been working since 2014 to connect the north eastern states with mainstream development.What is Modi’s greatest achievement?
A: The Prime Minister has given priority to the development of the north east region.Every ministry of the union government has given ten percent of its budget to the development of the region’s 3.5 percent population.
The ministries also sent Rs 68.500 crore this year for the development in the NE Region.
Each month, at least 13 to 15 ministers from the Union government visit the NE countries.
We will do our best to complete all projects in these states within the shortest possible time.The Union government is a success.
Q.Q.What do you think of your work in the Ministry
A.Modi deserves praises for forming the cooperation minister.
The ministry was handed to Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, who is well-known for his bold and strict decisions.
We are working to eliminate the weaknesses in the cooperative sector so it can play an important role in making India a $5 trillion economy.
The Ministry also focuses on poverty and unemployment reduction, as well as increasing income.
