P.Nadda said Friday that “roads in Manipur were once soaked in blood” and that the work would see the lanes being doubled.He also stated that “frequent blockades” had been ended in the state.
Nadda addressed a crowd here in Manipur Capital and stated that the Central government headed Prime Minister Narendra Modi had sanctioned 16 National Highways for Manipur.

Over 300 projects are currently being implemented to support the multi-faceted development in the northeastern state.

Nadda referred to Manipur as India’s “national jewel”, and said that the state is the most emerging in India.

He said that Manipur has a lot of sporting talent and the National Sports University is being established.

The BJP chief visited the northeastern state of Northeastern India on Thursday to intensify his campaign in Manipur’s poll-bound state.

This was his second visit in two-and-a half months.

Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, laid the foundation stone for ‘Rani Gaidinliu Tribal Freedom Fighters’ Museum in Manipur almost from Delhi this week.

Nadda stated that Manipur was the gateway to India’s freedom struggle.During the freedom movement, the state dealt a devastating blow to the British rulers.

Nadda stated that the previous government, led by Congress, was known for delivering blockades.Nadda also said that the newly launched Go to Village’ scheme, initiated by Manipur Chief Minister N.Biren Singh by the state government, has enabled the last mile delivery and door-step delivery of government services.

Manipur was a place where instability was a regular part of its life.

While insurgency was at its height, disputes between hills and plains were common during the previous regime.Our government has stopped the criminalization of politics in the last five years.Nadda stated that we began working in Manipur in 1980 and today we have our first Chief minister from the BJP.”

He also stated that the Modi government’s 2019 introduction of the Inner-line Permit means that outsiders cannot now purchase lands in Manipur, which will protect the state’s traditional culture.

Nadda arrived in Imphal on Thursday and held a series meetings with various people.He also attended several events over the past two days that were geared towards the upcoming assembly polls.

The elections to the 60-seat Manipur assembly will likely be held in February-March next Year, along with the assembly polls for Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand.

Nadda referred to the ambush of militants on November 13.He said that the sacrifice of Assam Rifles jawans at Manipur was not in vain.
The People’s Liberation Army and Manipur Naga People’s Front militants attacked an Assam Rifles convoy on November 13.They killed an Assam Rifles Colonel and his wife, as well as four jawans from the Churachandpur district bordering Myanmar.
