Thiruvananthapuram : , The Senior Women’s National Football Championship will begin in Kerala on November 28th.There will be 32 teams competing for the top honors, divided into eight groups at four venues: Municipal Stadium, Kuthuparamba, EMS Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode, Calicut University Kozhikode, Calicut Medical College Kozhikode, and Calicut University Kozhikode.The semi-finals will be played by the winners of qualifying matches, with the remaining two winners from the four previous rounds proceeding to the final.The Football Delhi selection committee voted Deepika Venkatesh, a midfielder, as the captain of the Delhi team after a two-month-long camp at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
Jyoti Ann Burrett, Delhi’s captain last year, will not travel with team due to an injury which occurred just before the team was due to leave for the tournament.This is her first time not being a part the team since 2009.
Delhi, Karnataka and Jharkhand are placed in Group D.They will begin their campaign on November 29.
