Philippines allows fully vaccinated travelers from “green” places to enter the country

Manila, Nov 26 : .The Philippines will allow fully-vaccinated foreign travelers from low-risk Covid-19 countries or regions to enter the country starting December 1-15, Karlo Nograles, acting presidential spokesperson, said Friday.
Nograles stated that travelers must show proof of vaccination and hold valid passports for at least six months after their arrival date.He also suggested that they have a return ticket or outbound ticket.

Dana Sandoval, spokesperson for the Bureau of Immigration, stated that foreign “tourists”, from “green” countries and regions, will be allowed entry.This was reported by Xinhua news agency.

Nograles stated that foreign travelers should have stayed in the green areas or regions for 14 days before traveling to the Philippines.

Nograles stated that foreign inbound travellers must present a negative swab result “within 72 hours prior to departure”.

Foreign travellers arriving in the country are no longer required for isolation in a facility-based quarantine.They are also not required to submit an on-arrival RTPCR swab test.

He said that passengers are encouraged to monitor their symptoms for the next 14 days, with the arrival date being the first day.

“This is something that we are doing step-by-step,” Nograles stated, adding that the government could extend the measure depending on the circumstances.

The Philippines’ Department of Health (DOH), reported 863 new Covid-19 infection cases on Friday.This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 2,830 387 in the southeast Asian country.

For three consecutive days, the Philippines has seen fewer than 1,000 cases.The DOH reported that 142 more people died from Covid-19 complications.

This brings the country’s death total to 48,017.
