Los Angeles, Nov 26, : Mariah Carey will host a television series with Lee Daniels, ‘Empire” showrunner.Lee was also the producer of her 2009 movie, ‘Precious’. Femalefirst.co.uk reports that the ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ singer is set to make her life story a television series in eight parts.
The singer released ‘The Meaning Of Mariah Carey’ last January.Z100 host Garrett Vogel asked her if she would ever consider a musical.
Carey said, “We wrote the book, and we are working together to finish it.” Lee Daniels is my friend.We are discussing the adaptation of my book.
I would prefer to do that, that’s why we first wrote the book.Broadway is great, but I want to do something.”
She said that a musical was unlikely, but she noted that the project was “probably going to” be a television series.
She said, “Lee is likely to hear this and kills me, but it’s probably going be an eight-part series.
The singer of ‘Without You” stressed the importance of the show being “gritty and grimy, beautiful.specular.real.”
She stated, “I need it gritty, grimy, beautiful, spectacular, and real!”
The book features the singer of ‘We Belong Together’ being incredibly open about her life, including the abuse she suffered as a child.
Her memoir stated that she had “developed the instincts to recognize when violence was coming” as a toddler.As if I smelled rain, I could tell when adult shouting had reached a certain pitch or velocity and I should run.
Carey stated that the pending project was “difficult right now” due to the ongoing pandemic and subsequent problems, but that the paperback would soon be on shelves.
She stated that COVID is making it so difficult and that they don’t know why.First, I wrote my memoir last January and it’s now out in paperback.
