Kondapalli: Police case registered against TDP leader Devineni Uma

Ibrahimpatnam police have registered a case against former minister and Telugu Desam Party senior leader Devineni Umamaheswararao.Tensions escalated between the YCP and TDP in the wake of the Kondapalli municipality chairman and vice-chairman election.With this, the police imposed Section 144.However, a case has been registered against TDP leaders Devineni Uma, Jampala Sitaramaiah and Ramineni Raja for organizing a bike rally violating the protocols.

TDP councillors boarded a bus during the election of the Kondapalli municipality chairman on Wednesday.However, former minister Devineni Uma tried to accompany the councillors on the bus.As police obstructed, Devineni Uma led a bike rally with 50 bikes and TDP activists.Despite police warnings, Devineni Uma continued the bike rally.

Police have registered a case against all those involved in the bike rally.Ibrahimpatnam police have registered a case against TDP leaders and activists involved in a bike rally for violating the rules.

In the recent Kondapalli municipality elections, for a total of 29 wards, TDP got 14, and YSRCP got 14 wards.Independent candidate Lakshmi won in the remaining ward.

With her joining the TDP after the election, the party’s strength rose to 15.
