Ankara, Nov 25, : Apple has stopped selling products online in Turkey because the Turkish lira continues its crash.Now, a new report claims that the tech giant has extended its sales stoppage to brick-and-mortar stores in Turkey.
According to macReports, multiple Turkish Apple Stores are refusing customers, but those who need support are allowed in.

“One employee at an Apple Store told us that his store only had a few AirPod models for sale.The report stated that Apple employees were standing outside the stores to send most people away.

Customers were also advised by employees at Apple Stores that they should expect price increases once the products are back on sale.

Apple has not yet announced an official halt in sales.

CNBC reports that the Turkish lira fell to a record low on Tuesday of 13.44 to $1.

Over the course of the year, the Turkish lira’s value has fallen by 45 percent compared to the US Dollar.

At the current rate, a Turkish lira equals approximately $0.078.Its value has been steadily declining since last week.

The currency of Turkey has been on a downward slide since the beginning of 2018, due to geopolitical tensions between the West and current account deficits, shrinking currencies reserves, and shrinking currency reserves.

Apple’s sales in Turkey are not expected to resume until the end of the year.Currently, the inflation rate is nearing 20%, which dramatically increases the cost of goods.
