Seoul, Nov 25, : South Korea’s coronavirus cases dropped below 4,000 on Thursday after reaching an all-time high of 4,115.However, critical cases and deaths rose to new heights, raising concerns about the virus spreading ahead of another pandemic winter. The country reported 3,938 new Covid-19 infections, with 3,917 local infections.This brings the total caseload to 429,000.
Yonhap reported the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency.
Critically ill patients reached an all-time record 612, 26 more than the previous record set one day earlier.
For the seven days ending Sunday, that figure was 498.
The country lost 39 more people to Covid-19, the most since July’s fourth wave of the pandemic.The fatality rate was 0.79 percent.
