Chennai, Nov 24, : , The seven-member Central Team, which had visited Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Puducherry in order to study the flood damage, called upon M.K., Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.Stalin at the Secretariat here Wednesday before departing for New Delhi. Stalin stated that he had informed the Central team about the state’s losses and damages due to floods and incessant rains, and had requested sufficient funds to cover the interim work in the affected regions.
Rajiv Sharma, Joint Secretary in the Home Ministry was the central team.
He had traveled extensively in rain-affected regions and had split the team into two teams to study the impact of rain.
It is expected that it will submit its report to Disaster Management Department of the Home Ministry to determine a figure for interim relief to Tamil Nadu or Puducherry.
According to sources from the Tamil Nadu Revenue Department it will be decided within 15 days.
