Los Angeles, Nov 24, : .Jennifer Lawrence, the actress who plays Kate Dibiasky in ‘Don’t Look Up’ has revealed that she sought permission from Adam McKay to smoke marijuana prior to a scene with Meryl Streep.
The scene had no dialogue. McKay was talking about McKay’s role as an actress, but Lawrence interrupted and said, “I know what your going to say, but I wasn’t pregnant at the time,” reports femalefirst.co.uk.
The director agreed with me: “You weren’t pregnant.Can I say this? “.
The star replied, “I think so.Just nobody tell my mother in-law.”
The director of ‘Anchorman’ explained to the actress how she asked if she could smoke a joint.The actress interrupted by saying: “Because I was getting high in the film.”
McKay continued the conversation during a Los Angeles Question and Answer event.Jen asked McKay, “Are you going to throw me some Improv?” Which we always do.I was like, “No, you can get higher.”
Although she was tempted to use Lawrence’s altered state, the 53-year-old filmmaker decided that it would be “mean” for her to do so.But she did not want to disappoint her mother! The actress stated that not everyone left her alone when she was high.
McKay stated that she kept turning to Cate Hardman, my script supervisor, and was like, “I just want to say, “Hey Jen.I think I have an idea for a monologue for you.Jen would look at me and say, “I can’t do that.” It would be too mean.It would be too mean.So I left you alone.”
She replied, “I was a real target.Everyone was f ****** there with me.I guess I was high.It was easy to f*** with.”
