Mumbai, Nov 23, : , The Ageas Federal Life Insurance Mumbai Half Marathon will return to Mumbai on December 19, according to the organizers. NEB Sports, organizers of the event, stated that all clearances and permissions will soon be granted for them to recommence their various marathons throughout the country.
“Several new protocols will apply to the race this year, including mandatory vaccines or RTPCR negative tests.Staggered starts, packed meals, sanitisers and disposable masks to make sure it’s safe for everyone,” Nagaraj Adiga, race director, stated in a release.
“Organizers intend to limit the number of participants based on permissions from government.We are already very close to our target.
However, registrations are still open until December 4, he said.
Sachin Tendulkar is the brand ambassador for Ageas Federal Life Insurance.
He said that fitness has been a major focus since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tendulkar stated that “since the pandemic started, the focus has increased manifold on fitness and people have realized the importance of an active, healthy lifestyle.”
“I wish the Mumbai Half Marathon participants all the best and encourage them to adhere to the safety protocols.He said that he hoped they would encourage their family and friends to take part.
Wings Sports Centre in Bandra West has given the half-marathon a new home.The event races include the biggie, half-marathon (21.1km), 10K and 5K.
