Kolar, Karnataka : , November 22 : .The Karnataka economy is now recovering from setbacks resulting in the Covid-induced crises, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bombmai on Monday. After visiting the rain-affected Kolar districts, he spoke to media personnel and said that the GST collection had reached Rs 130,000 crore in the month of April.This month it will reach Rs 1,20,000 crore.
Covid pandemic caused a huge economic setback for the nation and state over the past two years.He said that the economy of all the sectors has shown good recovery since the successful management of the vaccination campaign.
Tax collection targets have been established and actions are being taken to improve compliance.
According to the Chief Minister, every quarter, GST is collected by the state.
Bommai responded to a question about providing housing for the homeless.He said that 5 lakh homes had been built by the Cabinet.
District administrations were instructed to choose beneficiaries within each Gram Panchayat limit.
