New Delhi : , Nov 21, 2001 – A civil defense employee from the capital raped a minor girl, an official stated here Sunday. A senior official confirmed that a case was opened under Section 363 (kidnapping), Indian Penal Code.
This happened on the complaints of parents of victim 15-year old girl.
The victim’s daughter arrived at her house on the same day as the police investigation began and recounted the entire incident.
One boy approached her while she was walking along Matiala Road and offered to take her from his motorcycle.He took her to the coaching center while she was sitting on his motorcycle.
The senior official stated that the accused had shown her photographs from his cell phone, and introduced himself to her as a cop by showing him his uniformed photos.
He also promised her a teaching job at the centre.
He then took her to the park and raped him.
In view of the seriousness of this case, a team dedicated to capturing the accused, identified as Abhishek, a Delhi resident, was formed.
Initial investigations focused on the analysis of CCTV camera footage.The footage from more than 150 cameras at Rajapuri and Jain Colony were examined.
One footage showed a suspect person being seen with the motorcycle.The suspect was identified using secret information, analysis of CCTV footage and subsequent apprehending.
Comparable to data last year, the crime against women continues to rise in the capital.According to data from the National Crime Records Bureau, (NCRB), the capital had the most crimes committed against women of all metropolitan areas in the country a month earlier.
The Delhi Police has compiled data showing that 1725 women were allegedly raped between October 31 and the present year.The heinous crime was committed against 1,429 females in 2020.
The data shows a 20 percent increase in crime rates compared to the previous year.The total number of women being abused in 2020 was 7,948.This year, it has risen to 11,527.The crime against women in total has increased by 45 percent in the capital over the past 10 months.
