New Delhi, November 20, 2018 : .Kashmiri alpine skier Arif Muhammad Khan qualified for the Winter Olympics scheduled to take place in Beijing starting February 4. This 30-year-old, who is from Baramulla’s Hajibal Tangmarg district, represented India four times at the World Championships.
Omar Abdullah, a former Jammu and Kashmir Chief minister was one of the first to commend Khan’s feat.

Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir also felicitated skier Khan on his success at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Arif, a veteran skier, was able to secure his spot in the Games through the Dubai qualifying alpine skiing competition.
He is reported to be the Indian ski racer who has qualified for Beijing Winter Olympics 2022.Himanshu Thakur, Aanchal Thakur, and Aanchal Thakur from India are also trying to get into the massive-event.
Abhinav Bindra, Olympic gold medallist, also felicitated Arif for his accomplishment.
