Chennai, November 19, : .Actor Karthi, who praised the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to abolish three controversial farm laws, said Friday that it was a significant victory for simple farmers. Actor Karthi in Tamil wrote on Twitter that the Honourable Prime Minister’s announcement that the government was repealing three farm laws was an historic victory for farmers who had been fighting relentlessly for a year.
He thanked both the government as well as the farmers.
He expressed his gratitude for the understanding of the problem and expressed his appreciation to farmers who had staged it.
Karthi is younger brother to actor Suriya and has been vocal in support of farmer rights.
Suriya’s Agaram Foundation helped scores of children from underprivileged backgrounds to access education.Karthi’s Uzhavan Foundation assisted Tamil Nadu’s poor farmers.
The actor actually was one of the first actors to support farmers in Delhi during the protests against three Farm Laws that were brought in by Union government.
