Chandigarh : , Thursday, November 19th, 2009 – The Haryana Vigilance Bureau arrested the Deputy Secretary to the Haryana Public Service Commission as well as two other individuals involved in manipulating marks for candidates appearing in the written exam for the recruitment of dentists.A raid was launched after the November 17th registration of the case.
Naveen Kumar, who was a Bhiwani resident was arrested and taken into custody while accepting Rs 20 lakh in cash.
The Vigilance Bureau based on Ashwani Sharma’s confession and other evidence has arrested Ashwani Sharma (a Jhajjar resident) and seize cash worth Rs 1.7 million.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Anil Nagar (Deputy Secretary) at the service commission.
Further cash has been recovered from the home of an associate of Nagar.
An official statement stated that further investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crime and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
