Graft Case: Anil Deshmukh has had his ED custody extended for 3 days (Ld).

Mumbai, Nov 12, : , Anil Deshmukh (ex-Maharashtra home minister) was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).He had been arrested 10 days earlier in an alleged case of money laundering.

Mumbai, Nov 12th : Anil Deshmukh was abducted 10 days ago and taken to the Enforcement Directorate in Mumbai.
Strongly contesting the ED plea, Deshmukh’s lawyers Vikram Chaudhri and Aniket Nikam said that the former minister appeared before the ED voluntarily and even agreed to be in ED’s extended custody though he had been granted judicial custody last week.

Deshmukh’s attorneys Vikram Chaudhri & Aniket Nikam strongly contested the ED plea.They claimed that Deshmukh appeared before the ED voluntarily, and even accepted to be in ED’s extended custody despite having been granted judicial custody.Deshmukh’s lawyer Vikram Choudhri, Aniket Nikom strongly contested the ED plea.

Arguing before Special Judge H.S.H.S., a Special Judge.H.S.Special Judge.Satbhai, they questioned why the chargesheet was filed without arresting dismissed cop Sachin Vaze, the prime accused, who played a key role but remains ‘accused’ only on paper.

Satbhai and Satbhai argued before Special Judge H.S.Satbhai asked why the charges were not filed against dismissed cop Sachin Vase, the principal accused.However, he remains “accused” only on paper.

Chaudhri and Nikam also asked why the former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh — currently untraceable — has not been summoned for probe to record his statement.Chaudhri, Nikam and Nikam also inquired why Param Bir Singh (ex-Mumbai Police Commissioner) hasn’t been called for an investigation to take his statement.

Chaudhri & Nikam also questioned why Param Bir Singh, the ex-Mumbai Police Chief — who is currently unknown — was not summoned to give evidence.

“The country is passing through a phase where chaos and anarchy prevail, and the judiciary is the only saviour…The country is going through an anarchic phase, where chaos and disorder prevails and the judiciary acts as the sole savior.”The country is in a period where chaos, anarchy and law prevail and the judiciary are the only hope for its survival.The idea is to tire out Deshmukh…Deshmukh will eventually tire of the idea.Deshmukh is being tired.The ED seeking further custody is proof that all is not fair and they are acting with malice,” Chaudhri said.

Making a plea for extending Deshmukh’s custody, ED Special Public Prosecutor Shriram Shirsat submitted it was needed since new facts have emerged in the case which need to be probed.Shriram Shirsat, ED Special Prosecutor, pleaded for Deshmukh to be granted custody.

He said it was necessary because new facts in this case have been discovered that need to investigated.Shriram Shirsat (ED Special Public Prosecutor) requested that Deshmukh be placed in custody.

This was because of new evidence which needs to been investigated.

Further, he contended that Vaze, the accused in the same case, is currently in Mumbai Police custody till Saturday.

He also claimed that Vaze was the other accused in the case and is in Mumbai Police custody until Saturday.Vaze is also being held in Mumbai Police custody, according to him.

The ED would move a fresh plea seeking Vaze’s custody so that he could be confronted with Deshmukh, as the latter has been giving evasive replies.Vaze would be granted custody by the ED if he makes a new request for it.This is to allow him to confront Deshmukh who has given evasive answers.Vaze will be remanded to the ED for custody.

Deshmukh who went for the ED probe on November 1, was arrested in the early hours of November 2 and has been in custody since then.Deshmukh, who was going to the ED probe in November 1st, was taken into custody in the wee hours of November 2, and remains in detention.

Deshmukh was on his way to the ED probe, November 1.He was detained in the morning of November 2.

Last Sunday, the Bombay High Court had set aside the Special Court order granting Deshmukh judicial custody for 14 days and sent him back to the ED custody till November 12, and now extended till November 15.The Bombay High Court revoked the Special Court Order granting Deshmukh judicial custody for 14 days.It sent Deshmukh back to the ED custody until November 12.This was then extended up to November 15.Bombay High Court rescinded Deshmukh’s Special Court order granting him judicial custody of 14 days.He was sent back to the ED custody, which was extended until November 12th.

The ED lodged the case against the senior Nationalist Congress Party leader based on the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) FIR arising out of Singh’s letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray last March alleging that Deshmukh had ordered Vaze and others to ‘collect’ Rs 100 crore per month from Mumbai hoteliers.The ED filed the case against Singh, a senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party.

It was based on the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI FIR) arising from Singh’s March letter to Uddhav Thackeray alleging that Deshmukh had instructed Vaze and other hoteliers in Mumbai to ‘collect’ Rs 100 crore each month.The ED brought the case against the top leader of Nationalist Congress Party based upon the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), FIR arising from Singh’s March 2013 letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thckeray.

This alleges that Deshmukh ordered Vaze to ‘collect’ Rs100 crore per month at Mumbai hoteliers.

It further alleged that Deshmukh had received Rs 4.70 crore bribe in cash between December 2020-February 2021 through Vaze, which he had launched through paper companies and his trust.Further, it claimed that Deshmukh received Rs 4.70 Crore bribes in cash through Vaze.This was Vaze’s initiative through his trust and paper companies.The report further claimed that Deshmukh was the recipient of Rs 4.70 cr bribe in cash from December 2020 to February 2021 via Vaze.He had started Vaze through trusts and paper companies #Graft #Anil #Deshmukh #extended #Mumbai #Cricket #BCCI #ICC #IPL
