DGCA temporarily suspends SpiceJet’s cargo license to carry ‘dangerous-goods’

The Aviation Regulatory Authority of India (DGCA) has issued orders to SpiceJet Airlines suspending its cargo license.The DGCA issued orders suspending SpiceJet’s license for 30 days.

The suspension was granted on charges of transporting dangerous goods through cargo.The DGCA has said it will not allow SpiceJet to carry dangerous items, including lithium-ion batteries, on domestic and international flights.

According to DGCA regulations, carrying hazardous materials through Airline cargo services that are harmful to health, safety and the environment is prohibited.SpiceJet, on the other hand, explained the DGCA.

A carrier claimed the incident was caused by a declaration of non-hazardous goods.Also, they said that preventive measures have been taken.

The DGCA said it was suspending the license for a total of 30 days.SpiceJet is not allowed to carry dangerous items, including lithium-ion batteries.

The DGCA has made it clear that domestic and foreign flights will not be allowed to carry harmful goods.Meanwhile, SpiceJet has made a profit of Rs 30 crore on cargo transport this year.

SpiceJet explained that the carrier claimed the incident was caused as it has a non-hazardous declaration.Also, it said the shipper was blacklisted.
