Telangana state Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar has alerted the district collectors in the wake of heavy rains in the state.Accompanying Chief Minister KCR on his visit to Delhi, he held teleconferences with District Collectors, Roads and Buildings Chief Secretary Sunil Sharma, Disaster Management Secretary Rahul Bojja, Panchayati Raj and Energy Secretary Sandeep Sultania.

CS directed the district collectors to remain vigilant in the wake of IMD warnings of heavy rains in the state from Sunday night to Tuesday.He said the Gulab cyclone would have an impact on the state for two days.

It was suggested that a special control room be set up in all the district collectorates for relief measures.

The meteorological department has issued a red alert for the northern Telangana districts and an orange alert for the southern Telangana districts.

On this occasion, CS Somesh Kumar advised the Telangana govt officials to take NDRF services if required.Currently, NDRF teams are available in Warangal, Hyderabad and Kottagudem districts.

CS said that special officers should be appointed in each zone to prevent loss of life and property, especially in low-lying areas.
