Gulab Cyclone: IMD issues cyclone alert to AP and Odisha

The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast that the recently formed low-pressure belt in the Bay of Bengal will soon turn into a cyclone.However, the Meteorological department has named the cyclone ‘Gulab’.

The Indian Meteorological department revealed that the cyclone effect likely starts from tomorrow.The cyclone is expected to bring heavy rains to the northern coast of Andhra Pradesh from tonight.

Gulab cyclone shows the severe effect on Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

Apart from these, very little to moderate rains are expected in Telangana and Chhattisgarh states.

The Indian Meteorological Department issued cyclone warnings to Andhra Pradesh and Odisha governments.Police in West Bengal has also taken precautionary measures after reports of cyclone Gulab.

IMD has issued cyclone warnings for the northern districts of Andhra Pradesh and southern parts of Odisha.The meteorological department said that a low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal would turn into a cyclone in the next 12 hours.

The IMD forecast winds at 55 to 65 kilometres per hour speed along the coast during the cyclone.Heavy rains are expected from this evening until Monday morning.

In the wake of IMD warnings, the Andhra Pradesh state government officials issued alerts to people in the coastal and low-lying areas.
