Heavy rains to lash out coastal districts of AP for next 48 hours

The Meteorological Office has forecast heavy rains in several parts of Andhra Pradesh, especially in five districts.Krishna, West Godavari, East Godavari, Visakhapatnam, and Vijayanagaram districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall on Thursday and Friday.

In the same context, Guntur, Srikakulam, Kurnool and Kadapa districts are also likely to receive heavy rains.The remaining districts of Andhra Pradesh are likely to receive light to moderate rains, the Meteorological department officials forecast.

Also, they said that strong winds of about 40 to 50 KMPH are expected in the coastal districts till July 25.

It said that low pressure was likely to form on Friday due to surface periodicity formed in the northwestern Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours.The Meteorological dept officials said that this results in heavy rains in various parts of Andhra Pradesh.Also, they said that heavy rains continue in the state for the next four days.

The Meteorological department warned the fishermen and people in the low-lying areas to be vigilant and ordered them not to go fishing in the sea till July 25.A maximum of 40 km winds is expected along the coast.On the other hand, it has been raining across the state since Tuesday night.
