Telangana govt fires on Rayalaseema upliftment project by YCP govt

The Telangana state government expressed deep dissatisfaction over the Andhra Pradesh govt in the recent cabinet meeting for carrying out the Rayalaseema upliftment project works contrary to the NGT directive.Against this backdrop, the Telangana govt has written to the chairman of the Krishna Board to stop the illegal diversion of water from the Krishna River.

On behalf of the state government, Irrigation Department Special Secretary Rajat Kumar recently wrote a letter to Krishna Board Chairman J Chandrasekhar Iyer.The letter asked the Krishna Board to implement the orders of the National Green Tribunal.

These are the issues mentioned in the letter written by the government to the KRMB chairman.In the letter, the Special secretary alleged that the Andhra Pradesh government has disregarded the orders of the NGT and is rapidly continuing the construction of embankments.

In the letter to KRMB Chairman, Rajat Kumar, Special Principal Secretary, Department of Irrigation asked to take appropriate steps to stop the illegal works being carried out by the AP government.He said that the legal rights of the Telangana people must be protected.
