19 Maoists surrendered to Telangana police force

19 Maoists from various parts of Telangana surrendered to Bhadradri Kottagudem police and Central Reserve Police Force officers.Officials said that, of these, 10 were from Puligundala, seven from Bakkachintalapadu in Cherla zone and two were from Mulakanapally in the Dummugudem zone.

Bhadradri Kottagudem SP Sunil Dutt said that along with these 19, three women Maoist members also surrendered to police.According to the police reports, these 19 members are working as members of the Militia and Village Committee in the Cherla area.

Responding to this, district SP said, “We are asking all Maoist leaders, members and sympathizers to surrender to the government.It is reported that a lot of meetings have taken place in recent times.

We learned that the villagers were being pressured to attend the meetings.It is reported that Maoists have also levied a fine of Rs 500 on villagers for not attending the meetings.

Many leaders have died due to Covid-19 for the past several months.We are unable to provide treatment and the people are dying in the forest itself,” said SP.The SP suggested that all Maoist leaders and party members should surrender to the Telangana government if they want a better life.
