Bhoomi Puja was held by TTD for the construction of Sri Venkateswara Swamivari Temple in Majeen village near Jammu.At the request of TTD, the Jammu and Kashmir government has allotted 62.10 acres of land to TTD.Priests and Vedic scholars performed Ganapati Puja, Vishwaksena Puja, Punyahavachanam, Agni Pratishtha and Vastuhomam in the Yagasala.TTD Chairman YV Subbareddy and TTD EO KS Jawahar Reddy anointed the rock with the water brought from the Yagasala.

Afterwards, they worshipped Lord Vishnu by placing a rock on the ground.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha, Union Home Minister Kishan Reddy, MP Jagal Kishore Sharma, RSS leader Ram Madhav, TTD governing council member Govinda Hari, several local leaders and officials were present on the occasion.

Speaking on this occasion, TTD chairman YV Subbareddy said the temple, which is being constructed at Rs 33.22 crore, would be completed in 18 months.He spoke to the media after the Bhoomi Puja.

He explained that CM decided to build temples of Sri Venkateswara Swami from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.He said efforts have been made since last year to build a temple in Jammu.

He said that the Bhoomi Puja and construction of the temple were delayed due to Covid-19.
