TDP decides to boycott AP Assembly sessions on May 20

Telugu Desam Party, the main opposition party in Andhra Pradesh, has decided to boycott the Andhra Pradesh Assembly sessions.TDP decided not to attend the meetings as the ruling YSRCP is preparing to convene an assembly meeting only for one day.

It is learned that the AP Governor Bishwabhushan Harichandan has issued a notification on the 13th of this month that the Andhra Pradesh Assembly will meet on the 20th of this month.In the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Assembly Sessions, Chief Minister Jagan’s government is going to introduce the budget for the financial year 2021-22.

The government has already done with the entire budget formulation.The decision on how many days the Assembly sessions will be convened will be taken at a meeting of the Legislative Affairs Advisory Committee.

However, the TDP decided to boycott the assembly meetings.The TDP erred in holding the Assembly sessions only for one day without discussing public issues and the budget.

TDP leaders allege that the government has completely failed to curb the spread of coronavirus in the state.Recently, the AP govt has decided to extend the curfew timings in the state.
