Jagan govt to deposit Rs.10,000 under Matsyakara Bharosa scheme

Jagan govt is going to release funds under the Matsyakara Bharosa scheme to benefit the fishermen.It is all set to provide financial assistance under the Matsyakara Bharosa Scheme to the families who lost their livelihood due to the current fishing ban at sea.AP Chief Minister YS Jagan is going to deposit the money directly in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.A total of 1,19,875 families will get benefited from this scheme.

The state government has increased the allowance for fishermen from Rs.4,000 in the past to Rs.10,000 as promised during the 2019 elections.For the last two years, the government has been providing regular allowances to fishing families during the temporary fishing ban.In 2019, 1,02,478 families received a benefit of Rs.102.48 crore and in 2020, 1,09,231 families received financial assistance of Rs.109.23 crore.

The state government has paid Rs.10.06 crore in the 2019-20 financial year and Rs.22.70 crore in 2020-21 in the form of subsidy on the oil used for boating.The state government has paid Rs.2.20 crore in 2019-20 and Rs.1.20 crore in 2020–21 at the rate of Rs.10 lakh per family in case of accidental death of fisherman during fishing.
