A huge accident took place in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh.Around ten workers were dead in a huge explosion in the Kadapa district.
The accident happened while blasting the mines with explosives.According to information available from reliable sources, the death toll is likely to rise.
The accident took place at the Mamillapalli mine in the Kalasapadu zone of the Kadapa district.
Locals informed the police about the incident and the police reached the spot.Locals recovered seven bodies from the spot.They are unable to identify the bodies as the mortal remains shattered during the explosion.
The police said that the accident is caused due to a detonator explosion.Locals are engaged in relief efforts.
Currently, the injured are being shifted to hospitals in different areas.
About 25 to 30 people are said to have been there at the time of the accident.
Criticisms are coming that the accident was caused by the negligence of the owner.A total of 40 people work in these mines.
The deceased workers belong to Pulivendula of the Kadapa district.It is being heard that the permits to the quarry have been revoked by the officials but the quarry is still operating.
Mining officials reached the spot and are investigating.
